Bright & Romantic Wedding at the Moffatt-Ladd House in Portsmouth, NH
Laughter is one of my favorite things. When I met up with Derek & Svenja for their engagement photos last Fall, I absofreakinlutely adored them! They just knew how to laugh together and be completely comfortable in their own skin! Needless to say, I was pretty excited when their wedding day at the Moffatt-Ladd House in Portsmouth, New Hampshire rolled around early this summer, and I was grinning ear to ear all day!
There was so much perfection about this wedding. Derek’s nerves before the ceremony – and even during the ceremony until he finally saw Svenja come walking down the aisle with her mother. The notes they wrote to each other beforehand. All the signs and stationary that Svenja designed all by herself! And don’t even get me STARTED on how sweet their portrait times were!
I meet a lot of people in this business. Every year, I get to work with a lot of great couples. It’s so rare to have two people who have such a deep, genuine care for everyone around them – and you can feel the impact they’ve made on everyone ready to celebrate their marriage with them. I mean, when a granite slab coffee table was dropped on my foot and I tried to hide the fact that I was about to bleed all over the carpet, Svenja & her Maid of Honor, Morgan, both swooped in instantly to take care of me (“I’ve got saline in my purse!” “I’ve got bandaids!” <3 ).
I love all of the couples I get to work with, but these two touched a very special place in my heart right when I needed it the most. Their wedding day was like a dream to me and I was so honored to be a part of it all.
So, pale pink, vibrant greens and whites? Yeah. This may be one of my new favorite summer wedding palettes. <3
Be prepared for their sweet-as-honey adorableness to take over your screen and make you swoon like nobody’s business…
Come reception time, everyone was so relaxed & excited and the decor was simply charming. 🙂 The Moffatt-Ladd House has an adorable setup with the main events of the reception taking place under a tent on the lawn and the dancing going down in the barn around the corner.
As I mentioned before, Svenja designed ALL of the stationary, favors & signage and a member of the family made the adorable cupcakes!
Svenja & Derek ~ thank you so much for giving me the honor of being your photographer on such a special day. Getting to know you both and spending time around you over the past year has been absolutely wonderful and your love for those around you is a complete treasure. <3 Love you dearly!
