Beauty & The Beast Themed Maternity at Mack’s Apples in Londonderry, NH
Imagination was such a huge part of my childhood. My younger sister and I would imagine whole worlds and alternate universes that we would play these elaborately crafted characters in full stories as we stayed outside long after the sun had gone down. As an adult, I’ve found ways to apply that imagination to bringing different visions into reality, including creating some of the most beautiful styled shoots.

Over the last few years, I’ve added that to designing Themed Maternity Sessions in New Hampshire and one of my recent favorites was this Beauty & The Beast themed maternity session with Katie & Alex at Mack’s Apples in Londonderry, New Hampshire. Being huge Disney fans, Katie & Alex had thought up all kinds of different themed sessions they could do for their first child together, but their favorite was to dress up in a nod to Belle & Gaston as they shared their excitement for “Baby Belle” with their family & friends.
Now, with these sessions I’m given a vision from my couples first – and then I run wild with it. I start gathering props and accessories and, for Katie & Alex’s shoot, I also partnered them with my hair & makeup artist Sarah at Premiere Hair & Makeup and also commissioned a custom book page flower crown from The Balanced Butterfly as a nod to Belle’s love of books.
These two were completely beaming with love for their little one,
and I could NOT stop photographing them!
We stayed right through sunset amongst the apple trees, weeping trees, grassy fields and we brought out some of my vibrant smoke bombs to add a little something extra (I always bring a smoke bomb or two to my themed maternity shoots). As I’m writing this I keep swapping my screen to see some recent photos of Katie & Alex holding their baby Belle, Kassandra, now living life “on the outside” together. You are so, so loved, little girl!
